The Official Cakes for Kate

How sweet it is – a multi-tiered, traditional fruitcake will serve as a centerpiece of the wedding celebration of Prince William and Kate Middleton. on April 29, it has been announced.
A British "floral theme" will adorn the creation baked by Fiona Cairns, who started her business around her kitchen table 25 years ago. The cake will also be decorated with the couple's new cipher – most likely made up of their initials – which will be unveiled on their big day.
Also on the refreshment menu for the reception: a chocolate-cookie cake, made by Royal Appointment after sweet-toothed William, 28, specifically asked for it. The McVitie's biscuit company is producing the dessert, made from a favorite recipe of the Windsors', for the party.
At her bakery in Leicestershire, Cairns explained that each of the tiers of icing-covered, brandy-flavored fruitcake will have a different theme. Detailed piping is being used to make 3-D scrollwork, flowers, leaves and other decorative touches, while the flowers of the four corners of the U.K. will be represented by the English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil and Irish shamrock.
Cairns, 56, sent samples of different fruit cakes to William and Kate, who chose their favorite, and she has now started baking to allow the cakes the necessary four weeks to mature.

Cairns also reveals that Kate is in the driving seat as far as the planning is concerned. She met the princess-to-be at Clarence House, in London, six weeks ago. "She has guided us right from the beginning and has quite strong ideas," Cairns says. "That makes it much easier than a bride who has absolutely no idea whatsoever, which has happened in the past."

The 'Sweet William' Bloom

But Kate has clear ideas about the 16 different blooms – including one called 'Sweet William". Says Cairns, who also makes a cake every Christmas for Paul McCartney and has created delicious baked goods for rock band Pink Floyd: "She knew very much what she wanted, and she brought us mood boards and told us what influences she would like us to use on the cake."

She adds, "There is the bridal rose, which symbolizes happiness, the oak and acorn – which is an architectural detail around the room where the cake will be – symbolizes strength and endurance. There is a lily of the valley, which symbolizes sweetness and humility, and ivy leaves, which symbolize marriage."

William's office at the palace has also announced that there will be a second cake to provide a sweet at the reception. The company, which made a cake for the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh's 60th wedding anniversary and has been commissioned for weddings and christenings of the royals, will roll out "a few hundred" slices for the party guests at the Buckingham Palace party.

In all, these will contain about 35 lbs. of chocolate and approximately 1,700 McVitie's Rich Tea biscuits.

Carrie Underwood's Hubby Mike Fisher Headed for Nashville(Hot News)

There is much speculation in the sports world that Mike Fisher, who plays center for the NHL's Ottawa Senators , may be headed for a new job with the Nashville Predators.
That would be good news for Carrie Underwood, who is married to the Senators' associate captain. She is based in Nashville, but the couple also have a home in Ottawa.
The reason for the possible move on Mike's part is the Senators' performance this year as a team. They have a season record of 17-35-8, the third worst in the Eastern Conference. Team owner Eugene Melnyk has said that general manager Bryan Murray and coach Cory Clouston will stay on for the rest of the year, so speculation is that some of the players will be traded. Mike is one of the players mentioned, with some sports writers hinting that he could be traded to Nashville's Predators.
After the recent announcement about Murray and Clouston, Mike told TSN.com that knowing they will be with the team through the end of the season will probably allow for less tension in the dressing room. "It's a good thing, because it would have been our fault if something had happened," he says. "I think we can all just try to relax and play and worry about doing the best job we can moving forward."
According to Sports Haze Canada, Mike has a limited no-trade clause in his contract. His manager, Mike Reynolds, has said that Mike will only submit a list of names of teams that he does not want to play for if asked. Apparently that request has not been submitted to him by the team's general manager, Bryan Murray. Mike has a two years remaining on his contract with the Senators, and The Bleacher Report observed that Mike "would be a pricey acquisition, but could be a very useful player on the right team."
In the meantime, Carrie is settling into her life as the wife of a hockey player. She told K102 Radio in Minneapolis, Minn., "It is nice being a hockey wife ... I can spend hours in a grocery store and I'm the happiest person in the universe."
While the two knew going into their marriage that their respective careers would keep them apart during his hockey season and her concert tours, she says they spend as much time as they can together.
"We're together a lot more than people think we are," she says. "Even if it's just for a day, we get to pop in. We'll make sure we put the extra time and effort to do that."
The NHL's All-Star game is this weekend in Raleigh, N.C., so the focus for hockey fans will be on the event-filled two days.

(Lindsay Lohan's);I Would Never Steel

Even though Lindsay Lohan might be facing her biggest legal challenge yet, her dad Michael Lohan says she’s one “tough kid.” And he claims she’s innocent.
“Lindsay would never steal something,” Michael says. “We just spent $17,000 on a ring for her last week. She doesn’t need a $2,500 necklace. Anything is possible [about her possibly going to jail] with the system today but this isn’t right or fair. She turned her whole life around and this is derailing her recovery. She’s done everything right and how the DA can’t see through this, I don’t understand.”
Michael believes that Lindsay’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley should have gone straight to the DA when this first started.
“I thought Lindsay’s lawyers would bring the witnesses from the jewelry store before the DA before any of this happened. They could have resolved everything,” Michael says. “On their website they claim they loan out jewelry all the time to celebrities. But I guess she didn’t get the publicity they wanted.”
Michael tells us that he would be at court with Lindsay if he wasn’t recovering from major heart surgery  on Jan. 31, to unclog one of his arteries. He also says he’s been trying to reach her mom Dina Lohan for days.
“Dina is so stubborn,” Michael says. “I’ve been trying to talk to her, this is a time when Lindsay needs both of her parents together.”
